Miss Holiday Swing, or Holly as she’s more commonly known, first “trod the boards” at the tender age of five. Smiling, giggling and waving intensely to her parents in the audience, she had caught the Showbiz bug! Holly continued to perform throughout her early years and teens before going to university to study Musical Theatre, first at Northbrook College in Sussex and then at The American Musical Theatre Academy of London.
Her love of all things vintage first began when she formed part of vocal harmony trio, The Clover Sisters. These ladies performed at many festivals and entertained audiences up & down the country (and even France)! So when this period in her life ended, Holly was left with an extensive knowledge of Lindy Hopping, had gained a skill in Victory Rolls, and had a retro wardrobe to die for!
Thus came the birth of ‘Miss Holiday Swing’! Debuting her solo show on board the German Cruise Liner, Aida. Since returning to land she has gone from strength to strength, expanding her repertoire from the 1920’s through to modern day but always keeping that retro feel. Holly has performed at many prestigious events and venues including The War & Peace Revival, Twinwood Festival, The Kent & East Sussex Railway, Cahoots London, Belmond British Pullman and SAGA cruises.
So with a performing background of more than 20 years and a taste for authentic vintage style, Miss Holiday Swing’s voice resonates with the romantic nature of the era. But, being a keen Lindy Hopper herself, she knows the tunes to get those toes tapping! And nothing pleases her more than seeing a room full of people Jumpin’, Jivin’, and Wailing!
